Welcome Badge

All our children are given numbered badges that match a parent numbered badge. This number is written on a name badge sticker placed on the child's back. At the end of the service your number is matched with the child's number. This provides an extra measure of safety. We also place a matching sticker on your child's diaper bag should we need anything from it. Should we need you anything from it. Should we need you for any reason, that number will appear on the large screens in the service. Just make your way out of the service and we'll let you know why we need you.

Explorers

(Ages 3 & 4)

From the beginning, we desire for children to understand that God loves them. We accomplish this by speaking the name of God, and by telling and showing them that God is love. Our nursery is often the first opportunity for infants and toddlers to be with other children and adults other than mom or dad. So we strive to make it a safe and joy-filled place steeped in God’s love.

Can you remember how exciting it was to be a three and four year old? The age of exploration brings many new and exciting discoveries. With their language and cognitive skills growing, this is the perfect age to introduce to them “God made me special.” Our lessons are designed so that our Explorers begin to understand how and why God made them. Special projects, music and activities all reinforce the amazing discovery that God made them special.

Pathfinders

(entering Kindergarten the following fall)

There’s nothing terrible about Twos. In fact, we adore Twos. This is the age of enlightenment. Their thought processes are beginning to get to the place where they understand that God made them and that God loves them. They are enjoying new friends and can anticipate that Redwood Kids is an exciting place to be. This is the age where we start to introduce very basic Bible lessons. Seedlings are growing on the outside but their roots are growing deep, too.   Pathfinders includes kids entering Kindergarten in the upcoming school year. Pathfinders are literally finding their way in the world. They want to know where they came from and where they fit in. We continue the emphasis, “God made me special” with this age and design what we do to reinforce the understanding that they have unique gifts given to them by God. When they use their special gifts great things can happen. As they prepare for the next big step of entering school, they will understand how unique and how loved they are by their Creator.
